Police forbid feeding homeless in Minsk

Policemen and plain-clothed agends disrupted an action of free feeding of homeless people, traditionally organized by the initiative "Food Not Bombs", on March 12 in Mikhailauski Square in Minsk.

Policemen warned the participants of the initiative about the responsibility for participation in a non-sanctioned event, demanded their documents for a check-up and video-filmed them, “Nasha Niva” informs.

No one was detained in the end, but the action was disrupted. This is not the first time when Minsk police disrupt the initiaive's actions.

The initiative “Food not bombs” is active throughout the world. Its supporters buy vegetarian food for their own money and give it to homeless people. Minsk members of the initiative get together every Saturday in Mikhailauski Square.
