Police deranges celebration of Day of Belarusian martial fame in Mahileu

A “rapid deployment company” deranged the celebration of the Day of Belarusian martial fame in Mahileu yesterday. Mahileu activists decided to celebrate the holiday in Lubushski forest park but the police arrived an hour later.  About 20 people were made to get on the police bus and delivered to Kastrychnitski District Department of the interior. A protocol for making a fire in an inappropriate place was drawn up against the head of Mahileu affiliate of the Association of Belarusian language Aleh Dzyachkou. All the detained were released.

Let us remind you that Mahileu activists were going to set off for the celebration of the Day of Belarusian martial fame near Orsha on Saturday morning but they were made to get off the train and did not let them go until the train departed.

The police told Yauhen Suvorau, Ulad Barodka and Yauhen Boika that “they looked like drug dealers”. They also examined the passport of Aleh Dzyachkou.
