Police boost patrols on Belarus high-ways

The Traffic Police Inspectorate on Satursday is to launch what it describes as "an all-out attack on the violations of the moving rules".  Police said these measures are being taken in respond to the road accident growth and the deterioration of weather conditions.

Photo and video surveillance will be stepped up on the following high-ways: M1 (Brest-Minsk-Russian border), M4 (Minsk-Mahilyou), M9 (Beltway), R59 (Lahoysk-Smalyavichy-Maryina Horka), M5 (Minsk-Homel-Ukraine's border), M3 (Minsk-Vitsebsk), R63 (Barysau-Vileyka-Ashmyany), R58 (Minsk-Kalachy-Myadzel), R28 (Minsk-Maladechna-Narach).

The Traffic Police warns that driving licences will be sezied from drivers who commit gross violations of the road rules.

The action will take place through Sunday, December 9, writes Respublika newspaper.
