Police blocks car with opposition leaders in Brest

Two police cars blocked and made the car with opposition leaders stop near the roadside. The leaders were heading for the confinement cell where Pavel Sevyarynets was being kept.
The head of the United Civil Party Anatol Lyabedzka, the leader of the Communist Party of Belarus Syarhei Kalyakin and the deputy head of the Social-Democratic Party (Hramada) Anatol Lyaukovoch were going to give the political prisoner a parcel.

According to Lyabedzka, the police explained their actions by the fact that they received information about a crime committed by people in the car with a Minsk number plate. The investigation took about 30 minutes. The police looked through the opposition members’ passports, noted down all the needed information and released them.
