People almost strangle shop administrator due to sugar discounts (video)
Dozens of people assaulted one of the well-known multistores in Brest and Pinsk last weekend. Cheap sugar made them do it.
The shop offered a 50% discount for sugar to attract people on that day – 4900 roubles a kilo. People started grabbing packs of sugar, pushing one another and swearing, Komsomolskaya Pravda reports.
It was allowed to buy up to 5 packs of sugar at a time, the Brest shop explained. However, Bresters started quarrelling and grabbing up to 300 kilos at a time. They almost strangled the shop administrator.
There was no buying craze in other cities, the multistore administration said.
