Pedophile is sentenced to death in Homel
Homel Region Court has sentenced a Homel inhabitant Pavel Leny to death for having raped and severely beaten a 9-year-old boy in autumn. The sentence to the pedophile was pronounced on his birthday (he turned 27 on June 20).
P.Leny has already been imprisoned for illegal sexual activities before. His first imprisonment was three years in 2003 but he was amnestied 8 months later. However, P.Leny was sentenced to eight years of imprisonment after that. He had raped a minor. He spent four years behind bars and was given the grant of parole. P.Leny raped and killed a boy hitting him 12 times on the head, neck and chest on September 24, 2007. Only thee weeks had passed since his release. The boy’s mother, Natallya Havatskaya, said that the sentence was fair. The pedophile’s and the boy’s parents lived next door and the murderer was a class-mate of the victim’s uncle.
The convict can appeal the decision during 10 days and advance a plea for mercy.
