Participation of Belarus in Eastern partnership summit to be decided next week

A decision about Belarus’ participation in the “Eastern Partnership” programme and in the summit in Prague will probably be taken at a meeting of EU Foreign Ministers next week. The British Ambassador to Belarus Nigel Guld-Davis has expressed the opinion. According to the diplomat, the issue of “Eastern Partnership” will be discussed by the European Council at an EU summit meeting on March 19-20. However, the Ambassador does not think that the decision about the participation of Belarus is likely to be taken there.

The diplomat stressed that Great Britain would like to see Belarus in “Eastern Partnership” as an equal member, reports “Interfax”.
