Orange snow falls on Russia

Yellowish snow fell down on five districts of Russia's Omsk region, covering a strech of up to 100 km long.

Moreover, the snow was covered with oil strains and had a stinking smell. According to the Russian rescue authorities, the orange snow covered the area with 49 settlements with a total population of over 27,000 people.

The local residents are not yet reported to have complained about feeling sick, but the authorities have urged the people to observe precautions. The local prosecutor's office has opened a probe into the matter.

An industrial accident could be to blame for this unusual fallout, reports REGNUM news agency.
