Opposition politicians leave notes in Parliament’s complaint book

Anatol Lyabedzka and Valyantsіna Palevіkova left the building of the Parliament after an hour. Let us remind you that representatives of the United Democratic Forces brought deputies the people appeal expressing their protest against the benefits cancellation. They collected 40 thousand signatures. Special police troops and people in plain clothes had tried to force the politicians out of the yard before they allowed them to enter the building. Valyantsіna Palevіkova, member of the United Civil Party, thinks that the authorities showed they were afraid of their electors:

Valyantsіna Palevіkova: “What people’s Parliament is this? Electors cannot come and meet their deputies there. We left signatures in protest of the benefits cancellation but it seems to me that nobody needs them. They even counted them by packets, not one by one”.

Not a single deputy came out to meet opposition politicians. The chancellery of the House of Representatives accepted the appeal to people’s deputies. The only thing the politicians managed to do was to leave notes in the complaint book:

Valyantsіna Palevіkova: “It took a lot of time for a representative of the chancellery and a clerk to find the complaint book. After they had brought it we wrote everything we wanted to say. Now the first complaint has appeared in that book”.

The politicians are going to draw the attention of the majority of people to social problems:

Valyantsіna Palevіkova: “We have to continue. We need many people interested in the problem. It is necessary to explain it to people, to talk to them and collect signatures. I wish people worried about it during the Social March”.

It is really hard to imagine deputies interrupt their first meeting because Mr. Laybedzka and Ms. Palevikova have come to the Parliament…
