Obama threatens Putin with new sanctions

Barack Obama reminded Vladimir Putin about the possibility of strengthening pressure on Russia in connection with the country’s activity in Ukraine. The American President urged Putin to use more of his personal authority in order to settle the conflict, White House Special Assistant to the President Josh Earnest reported.

Barack Obama urged Vladimir Putin ‘to support peace instead of allowing arms and military equipment supplies across the border and supporting militants and separatists destabilizing the situation in the region’, Josh Earnest said.

"Russia will have to pay an additional price if we notice no measures taken in order to deescalate the situation,” RIA Novosti quotes Obama.
