No casualties, no missing limbs after blast – Head physician of Minsk Emergency Hospital

The head physician of Minsk Emergency Hospital Victar Sirenka has refuted the rumours about casualties caused by the explosion in the capital on the night of July 4. According to him, none of the injured lost their limbs.
Four victims of the explosion are in hospital now. One of them is “in a serious but stable condition”. It is an 18-year-old guy who was delivered to hospital with an abdominal cavity trauma.

The other three people are from 18 to 24 years old. According to V.Sirenka, they arrived with “missile wounds”. Most injuries were found in their legs. Their condition is satisfactory. One of them will be discharged from hospital soon.

The head physician also informed that a conference of specialist doctors from the Ministry of Healthcare was being held. Specialists are examining the injured in Minsk hospitals and institute therapy if necessary.

As it was informed, the majority of the injured were delivered to hospital #6, the Republican scientific and practical traumatology and orthopaedy centre and to hospital #2. All the victims received qualified medical assistance during an hour after the explosion, informed the head physician.

Let us remind you that, according to the Ministry of Healthcare, 54 people asked for medical assistance after the explosion. All the injured were evacuated 20 minutes after the accident. 18 ambulance staffs were engaged in the operation. 47 people including two children were taken to hospital.
