New meningitis case in Pinsk district

A one-year old girl has been hospitalized with meningitis in the Pinsk district, Brest region, BelaPAN reported. This is the fifth meningitis case in the district this year. A five-year old boy died of the disease in the village of Lasitsk on May 3, and his brother was taken to a local hospital. He is currently recovering.

One more child died in February and one in April. District officials held an emergency meeting on the outbreak on May 4.
