Moscow alarmed by lower support base for union with Russia among Belarusians

The Committee on CIS Affairs of the Duma, the lower chamber of the Russian parliament, is alarmed there are less people in Belarus who support a union state with Russia.

"Minsk and Moscow have different views on how to create a union state", Committee Chairman Alexei Ostrovsky said in a statement.

Speaking at a news conference after the committee's field session in Smolensk, Ostrovsky said that he often traveled to Belarus and was not satisfied with Belarus's official propaganda towards Russia, reports Salidarnas newspaper.
