Minsk mayor wants to reduce prices in 3 and 4 star hotels

Chairman of Minsk City Executive Committee, Andrei Shorats, set a task to reduce the rates of the three- and four-star hotels in  Minsk. At the town hall meeting, he drew attention to the fact that the cost of living in Minsk hotels is higher than in hotels of Warsaw, Vilnius and Riga. "And if we want to attract next year  about 200 thousand tourists from the regions, it is necessary to work in this direction," BELTA quoted Shorats.

Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee set the task "to develop a common policy on the formation of prices for hotel rooms."

According to the head of the household and hotel services of the Minsk City Executive Committee, Andrei Novikau, in the autumn of 2014 Minsk hotels reached the level of cost-effective operation and are getting ready for the New Year's influx of visitors. They are expecting up to 6,500 people, said the agency Minsk-naviny.

Currently, there are 44 hotels for more than 9,000 places operating in Minsk.
