The Information Ministry says access to Charter97.org is blocked for spreading forbidden information published on the website.
The Ministry of Information has commented on the blocking of Charter’97. The decision was made because the opposition website had published forbidden information (Article 38 of the Law on Mass Media). However, the ministry has failed to point to a particular article that violated the law. Media outlets always need to ‘stick to the Law on Mass Media’, officials stressed.
The website of Charter’97 was blocked on the evening of January 24. It either does not load or a blocking message pops up.
