Ministry of Education: Applicants decrease in numbers due to demography
There will be more of them next year.
Euroradio has learnt this in the Ministry of Education.
The Ministry's employee: "The number of children decreased, that's the reason. This is the last year with such a low number of applicants. The demographic pit. We have predicted this."
117 thousand applicants signed up for the centralized testing, last year there were 141 thousand. The number of school graduates decreased by 6 thousand in comparison with the last year.
The Russian language testing is the most popular - nearly 84 thousand people signed up for it, informs the Ministry of Education.
