Minister of Information: Internet mass media will be registered in Belarus
A project of registration of Internet mass media is being elaborated in Belarus. The Minister of Information Uladzimir Rusakevich claimed it in an interview with BelTA.
According to him, the project of the decree “has already been sent to all interested institutions”. A republican interdepartmental work group has studied the experience of CIS member states and Europe in regulation of activities of Internet mass media.
At the same time Rusakevich says that the state is not going to introduce censorship on the Internet. The decree will solve the problem of responsibility and copyright in on-line editions.
"The document introduces a principle of registration of Internet editions on request”, - said the Minister of Information. He noted that it was “the first step” and the legislative base “would be corrected”.
