Meat truck driver escapes the Russian border into Belarus

A meat truck travelling from Belarus was stopped in the Pskov region of Russia at the Sebezh Customs control point. According to the press service of the Rosselkhoznadzor, the truck with the registration number AI 0799-2 was driven by a 38-year-old citizen of Belarus Mr Batsyanousky living in the Vitsebsk region.

The truck was carrying two tons of unlabelled chilled beef without veterinary and consignment documents. The truck was not designed for transporting raw meat, there was no refrigeration. The meat was simply dumped into truck together with cardboard.

It is reported that the driver left without permission - presumably for Belarus.

Earlier, a truck driver transporting tomatoes escaped from the Russian border.
