Chief manager of Belarus national football team Mihail Marhel has commented on the defeat in Belarus-Netherlands match of Euro-2020 selection tour (1:2, Stanislau Drahun scored the only Belarus’ goal). The match was played in Minsk stadium Dynama. More than 21 thousand people attended it.

"Playing against such a rival is a great experience for us,” the press service of the Football Federation of Belarus reports. “I think that our players have passed the exam. They have not won but they have proved that the team has a strong character… Sometimes defeats like this one are worth more than a victory.”

That is why he is optimistic, the chief manager said.

Estonia has lost to Germany in a home match (Group C, 0:3). The Netherlands and Germany have scored 15 points so far. Northern Ireland has 12 points, Belarus – 4, Estonia -1. The Belarusian team is in the fourth position in the group. Mihail Merkel’s team will play the last match in Germany on November 16.
