Lyabedzka not allowed at official Victory Day celebration

Employees of Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s security service decided that the presence of the leader of the United Civil Party Anatol Lyabedzka at official events dedicated to the Victory Day was “unnecessary”.
BelaPAN reports that Lyabedzka and five members of “Young Democrats” brought flowers to Minsk Victory Square on May 9 in order to commemorate those who perished in World War II.

However, they did not manage to pass through a cordon of policemen and people in plain clothes – the opposition members were drawn aside and surrounded. Some people in plain clothes said there were employees of the President’s security service.
