Lukashenka sacks Customs Committee deputy chief

Аliaksandr Lukashenka has dismissed the deputy head of the State Customs Committee Siarhei Barysiuk, according to the president's edict published on December 25 on the National Legal Portal, reports BELTA.

It is yet to be known what caused his dismissal.

Siarhei Barysiuk served in the customs from 1993 before becoming the head of customs at the Minsk International Airport in 2003. One year later he was appointed to serve as the head department at the State Customs Committee. He became the deputy head of the State Customs Committee in 2008.

Last week, KGB chief Valery Vakulchyk announced about the detention of three more people in association with the high-profile corruption investigation of customs officials in Orsha, remnds Nasha Niva.
