Lukashenka: No adequate steps from US, EU

Alexander Lukashenka today said there were no steps from US and EU towards Belarus's desire to normalize relations with the West.
"In respond to Belarus's candid desire to normalize relations with the West, neither the European Union nor the United States are rushing with adequate steps", Lukashenka said when making new appointments in the country's security agencies.

The head of the state believes that there are "no positive concrete measures" from US and EU and this "activates attempts by certain forces to destabilize the situation in our country", reports Interfax news agency.

Lukashenka noted that elections "will be held absolutely honestly" and demanded that security agencies ensure "complete public safety".
