Lukashenka: I should be more reserved in some statements

One cannot be a dictator without nuclear weapons and energy resources, Aliaksandr Lukashenka said in an interview with the German newspaper Welt.

He also admitted that he “should possibly be more reserved in some statements”.

According to Lukashenka, “there are possibly shortcomings” in the development of the mass media in Belarus.

“The media can act as a firearm. Journalists can kill democracy as they can kill a totalitarian system”, the Belarus head of state said.
