Lukashenka congratulates Poroshenko on winning Ukraine election

"Centuries-old traditions of friendship and mutual support, historical unity of our nations make up a solid foundation for the development of all-round and constructive cooperation between our countries,” BELTA quotes the Belarus president as saying.

“Belarus has always been and will be a reliable neighbour for Ukraine. We want Ukraine to be a stable and strong state,” Lukashenka noted.

The Belarus leader wished Petro Poroshenko every success in promoting unity and wellbeing in Ukraine.

He is ‘on good terms with Alyaksandr Ryhoravich’ [Lukashenka], Poroshenko confessed on Monday. His personal example ‘should assure Alyaksandr Lukashenka that a fair victory and the whole world’s support are a good thing to strive for’, Poroshenko said.
