Lawyer: Nadezhda Savchenko to be transferred from prison to hospital soon

Nadezhda Savchenko will be sent to Moscow Hospital #20 on Tuesday, the pilot’s lawyer Marc Feigin said. Savchenko is jailed on charges of the murder of Russian journalists.

The information has not been confirmed by the Russian Federal Penal Service yet. The Ukrainian has been refusing from all food for several days, the service reported earlier. She has not eaten for three days and the council of physicians needs to be held in connection with it.

Savchenko has lost more than 8 kilos in a week. She has low blood sugar and other bad tests, head of the Russian President’s Human Rights Council Mikhail Fedotov said.

The Russian Investigation Committee pronounced the final charges to Savchenko last Friday.

The Ukrainian has been jailed in Russia since July 2014 and went on a hunger strike in December. She started eating chicken broth on March 6 but resumed her hunger strike later, BBC reports.
