Activist Vyachaslau Kasinerau has been fined 115 roubles for putting a loop on the neck of the monument to a Russian Empire policeman near the MIA headquarters in Minsk.  The prosecutor wanted the activist to be sentenced to 2 years of home penal labor. Having heard the sentence, Kasinerau said that he had expected to be sentenced to home penal labour. People’s solidarity has helped him, he reckons.

The incident occurred on March 12. Vyachaslau Kasinerau was detained not far from the monument. Kasinerau did it out of ‘sheer cynicism’, the prosecutor announced in court. Russian Empire policemen tortured the Belarusian people, the activist insists.
