Iranian President meets the head of the Belarusian House of Representatives

A meeting of the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the head of the Belarusian House of Representatives Uladzimir Kanapleu took place in Minsk on the morning of May 22.

The speaker of the Belarusian Parliament stressed that the announcements made by the Iranian President during the meeting with Alyaksandr Lukashenka were important for bilateral cooperation and received a response in the society.


Mr. Ahmadinejad noted that Belarus was one of the priorities in Iranian foreign policy. He informed that the Iranian Parliament ratified the agreement on cooperation with Belarus on May 20. “Development of strategic relations with Belarus is an integral rule for us”, - claimed the Iranian President.


Work groups on cooperation between the two countries’ parliamentarians have already been formed in the National Council of Belarus and the Islamic Council of Iran.
