Interior Minister: Belarus likely to announce a new amnesty in 2008
Belarus Interior Minister Uladzimir Navumau does not rule out that Belarus could announce a new amnesty in 2008. He said that the first amnesty could have been announced by December 1, as lawmakers passed a new amnesty law.
"We will hold the amnesty with one or two months. We will do it quickly and analyze the effect of this amnesty on the society. After that, we could consider the issue of another amnesty," Minister said.
