The head of the Belarusian Independent Trade Union Maksim Pazniakou from Navapolatsk has been sentenced to 15 days of arrest, human rights activists report.

The reason was Pazniakou's Facebook avatar. It had a flag of Ukraine and the phrase "For Independence".

As reported by Euroradio, Pazniakou was detained on May 17 near the kindergarten, where he was taking his children. The car in which they put him had no number plates.

On the eve of his detention, Pazniakou criticized the detention of a number of trade union activists.
