Homel associate professor threatened with 10 years of imprisonment for using illegal software
A criminal case has been started against an associate professor of the department of information science of one of Homel universities. He is suspected of illegal distribution of copies of an account programme “1C”.
The associate professor installed the programme for various Homel enterprises and organizations. He even organized classes and taught how to use the programme. He found clients with the help of his pupils.
Organizations possessing the author's rights for distribution of the programme in Belarus have already presented him a claim. He is risking to be imprisoned for 10 years. The research worker pleads not guilty.
