High-ranking EU official to visit Minsk on 17 October

EU Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn will visit Belarus on 17 October, Belarusian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Dzmitry Mironchyk told reporters on Thursday. The EU Commissioner is scheduled to meet Foreign Minister Uladzimir Makei, he said. Johannes Hahn will also have other meetings while in Minsk, reports BELTA.
Uladzimir Makei earlier announced about visits by several high-ranking EU officials to discuss the forthcoming Eastern Partnership Summit to take place in late November in Brussels. Belarus President Aliaksandr Lukashenka was invited to the summt as well.
