Gypsy pretends to be a blonde and swindles out 40 thousand dollars

A capital dweller gave 40 thousand dollars she had especially brought from home to an unknown person. Another woman took 7 thousand USD from her bank account with the same purpose. It’s not a scene from a fantastic film. Even investigators were afraid to look in the eyes of the detained.
There are several districts where gypsies live in Minsk. For example, they can be found in Kalodzishchy, Angarskaya and Zavodski Distrcit. Very often they use hypnosis to swindle out money from Minsk dwellers. There were three incidents like that in Pershamaiski District last year. The last incident took place near the National Library and it made even experienced investigators be at a loss.

A gypsy put on a blond wig and made up her face. Then she approached a well-dressed woman and informed her that she was cursed. An investigator Maxim Drozd continues:

“The woman got frightened: what to do? How to check it? There is a good way: got to the shop, bye some eggs. I’ll break them and check: if there is a lizard’s tail or a tail of some other animal inside then you are cursed”.

After some movements of hands and hypnosis the victim looked at the broken eggs and saw exactly what the gypsy said. Then it’s easy. The swindler told the woman that she needed to bring her money from home. If the curse is lifted from the money it will be ok”.

Maxіm Drozd: “The woman went home which was two bus stops from the library. She took the money and returned. She gave it to the gypsy who wrapped them in a newspaper. Then she did something and gave it back warning that the woman should not look inside right away. First it was necessary to take some trolleybus and get off after several stops. Then the woman needed to walk around some house for four times. After that she could look at the money and everything would be ok, excellent, incredible”.

Of course the woman did not find any money in the newspaper. Why do people give their own money to strangers? Hypnosis victims do not understand it themselves. Alena Yurkevich still cannot understand how she could fall under the influence of a gypsy when she was a student:

“A gypsy approached me and started a conversation. That was all she needed. But it turned out that I had left my gold at home and had an old bag I did not even regret about. I had a purse and an apple.

I gave it all to her and even said I could go home and bring some more. But she understood I had nothing valuable. I left her but I was still under the influence of her hypnosis. I understood that something was wrong only after I had left the market”

A doctor from a psychoneurological dispenser Ihar Sarokin tells us how to avoid getting in such situations:

“Don’t look in their eyes, look somewhere ahead of you as if there were no gypsy at all. Concentrate on anything except the person trying to make use of you”.

Even policemen were afraid to look into the eyes of the detained Mrs. Pasevich who had swindled 40 thousand USD out of a Minsk dweller. She refuses to plead guilty. Her accomplice is still free and is probably swindling people with the help of hypnosis now.
