Girkin wanted to demolish Donetsk high-rise buildings to fight in ruins
Alexander Zakharchenko, ‘DPR’ PM, has given another interview.
Muscovite Igor Girkin (Strelkov) is ‘a special hero’ who started the fight with Ukrainian troops in Donets Basin. ‘DPR’ activists respect him for it. However, they did not support his ideas if they did not respect peaceful citizens’ rights.
"Demolishing high-rise buildings in the outskirts of Donetsk is simply preposterous to me,” censor.net.ua quotes Zakharchenko. “We did not let him destroy them. He wanted to do it because he thought that it would be easier to use ruins for defence. But he does not live here.”
Girkin was the leader of Sloviansk terrorists in spring and summer and became ‘Minister of Defence of the so-called ‘DPR’. He returned to Russia in August and is not planning to go back to Donets Basin now. He wants to fight ‘the fifth column’ in Russia.
