Former senior state control committee official gets 10 years in jail for graft

A senior official from the State Control Committee, a government agency that oversees major cash flows in the country, has been sentenced to ten years in prison for receiving a bribe. His properties will be confiscated by the state.
The former official who headed a post at the department of financial investigations in the Vitsebsk region received $5000 from two businessmen for facilitating audit checks at their companies, reports BELTA.
