Football: BATE advances to Champions League group stage!

A football club from Belarus has made it to the Champions League for the first time in the country's history. On Wedensday, BATE Borisov drew 1:1 against Bulgaria's Lewski in a dramatic and difficult home encounter. The Belarusians have advanced to the group stage thanks to the away victory 1:0 to become part of Europe's best teams.
Siarhei Sasnouski scored on 14 minutes, but the guests managed to draw on 39 minutes thanks to a goal from Vladimir Gadzev. Things looked worse for the Belarusian side when BATE forward Genadz Bliznyuk was sent off on 43 minutes. Despite playing ten men, BATE managed to endure and write one of the best pages in the history of the Belarusian football.

The group stage drawing will take place on August 28 in Monaco.
