First tobacco school to open in Minsk
The first "tobacco school" will be opened this year at the Institute of Pulmonology in Navinki near Minsk.
TB patiens, of whom 80 percent are smokers, are likely to become the first students of the school. The majority of the potential students wish to quit the habbit for ever. This is a two-year projectc.
The project aims to purchase special drugs and carry out psychiatristic sessions for the patients.
According to the City Health Center, 48 percent of men and almost 21 percent of women are regular smokers in Minsk, reports the Minsk Novosi news agency.
