Finns to allow construction of Russian gas-main bypassing Belarus this year

Helsinki will agree on the construction of a gas pipeline Nord Stream that will connect Russia and Germany bypassing Poland, Belarus and Ukraine this year. The Finnish Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen claimed it after a conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
Denmark has already given its permission. Now investors only demand the agreement of Russia, Finland, Sweden and Germany as the pipeline will cross their territorial waters. The construction of Nord Stream will begin in spring 2010, informs PAP.
