Fake medicine annual turnover reaches billions dollars

The annual turnover of fake medicines in the world has reached $32 billion, amounting to 10-50 percent of the total medicine production output in some countries, said Hurshid Anvar, the Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization.

The enterprises producing fake drugs operate in Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, Italy and Brazil, he said. Belarus has not been black-listed.


According to statistics, fake medicines cause the death of almost 1 million people in the world annually, reports Intefax.
