EU to send mission to Belarus to develop relations

The European Union is to send a mission to Minsk in the coming weeks in order to evaluate how to develop political and economic relations with Belarus, EU High Commissioner for Foreign Policy and Security Javier Solana said during a joint press conference with Belarusian Foreign Minister Sergei Martynov, reports Prime-Tass news agency.
The Belarus official noted in return that his country was prepared to develop productive relations with the European Union.

The European Union suspended for six months the travel ban for Alexander Lukashenka and 35 high-ranking Belarus officials. At the same time, the chairwoman of the Central Election Commission Lidzia Yarmoshyna, Interior Minister Uladzimir Navumau, former chief of police commandos Dzmitry Paulyuchenka, former state secretary of the Security Council Viktar Sheiman and former interior minister Yury Sivakou have remained on EU's "black list".
