EU may impose sanctions on Ukraine for European Maidan dispersal

The information agency refers to a diplomatic source in Brussels. “The situation in Ukraine is tense and alarming. The EU member states are watching it with anxiety. The authorities should refrain from excessive use of force against citizens expressing their opinion in Kiev streets,” the statement says.

The situation in Ukraine will be discussed by representatives of 28 EU member states in Brussels soon, the source said.

It also noted that “sanctions are not planned at the moment. Everything will depend on the development of the situation in the country in the next few days.”
