Entrepreneurship activist from Babruisk taken to police custody in Minsk

Alena Madzvedzeva, a member of the For Free Development of Entrepreneurship! campaign, was detained by police in Babruysk. Upon leaving a market place, police officers approached her and told her that they were supposed to bring her for a conversation with their commanders, reports Belapan. Myadzvedzeva was initially held at the local police department, but was later transported to Minsk. Alena managed to say on the telephone that her detention might be linked with her participation in the January 10 unauthorized rally of entrepreneurs in Minsk.

She also believes that the authorities are trying to isolate active members of the entrepreneurship movement ahead of a new protest scheduled to take place on January 21 in central Minsk.
