Egypt opens Gaza Strip’s border

Egypt opened the border of the Gaza Strip for three days yesterday. It was done to allow Palestinians in need of medical assistance to leave the territory controlled by “Hamas” and get the necessary treatment, informs BelTA. According to the head of the emergency aid service of the Gaza Strip, 550 Palestinians including 200 people injured in Israeli shootings and 70 children under the age of 16 will be transported to Egypt. Moreover, about 500 Egyptians will be able to leave the Gaza Strip.

Israel and Egypt closed the border of the Gaza Strip last summer when the power in the enclave was taken by Islamists from the “Hamas” movement.
