Dzyanіsau wants to return money but he can’t afford it

The money collected for Dzyanis Dzyanisau let him be released on bail on April 11. The criminal case was suspended but the money is still at the police office. The organizer of the money raising campaign Zhana Yamaikina says the money will be returned to its owners as soon as it is given back. Let us remind you that a civil activist Dzyanis Dzyanisau was arrested on February 16 and accused of organization of mass riots. He was threatened with 3 years of imprisonment. A money raising campaign started in the Internet at the end of March. Thanks to it Dzyanisau was released on bail on April 11. The criminal case was suspended on May 29.

About 100 people participated in the campaign. The sum they gave totals 15 and a half million BRB. Zhana Yamaikina says what Dzyanis thinks about the necessity to return the money:

“Of course he agrees to do it. He said he was grateful to everyone and wanted to thank them. Even if something is left we will find the people who would not contact us and return them the money or ask what they would like to be done wiith it”.

The money could be used to help civil activists pay their fines. The opposition had to pay about 5 thousand USD only in May.

At the beginning of the money raising campaign some people suggested to give it to an asylum or to ill children if it was not enough to release Dzyanisau. It could also be used to release another political prisoner – Andrei Klimau.

He has been behind bars from April 3 and is accused of appeals to a take-over. His term of detention has been increased by three months recently.

Klimau’s adherents do not think it can bring good results. The deputy head of the United Civil Party Ihar Shynkaryk thinks that Klimau would not be released on bail and even if it were possible because the prisoner would not get the money in time:

“We would collect the money if it were possible to release Andrei on bail. But I think they will not let us do it. I got to know he was in the prison’s hospital when I read his letter. He had a heart attack and was not feeling well, to put it mildly.

Dzmіtryi Busel and his girlfriend gave 25 USD each to help Dzyanisau. Dzmitry thinks that there are a lot of people ready to give some money for a good deed. The only problem is to decide what will be a good deed:

“Nobody knows how to do it and how to use the money. We can select several people and make a presidium or invent suggestions ourselves and then organize a voting.

Or we can create several e-mail boxes for suggestions. Everyone will be able to send their ideas there, for example, “I would like my money to be spent for…” or “I need money know, so I’ll take them back.”, but it’s my personal opinion”.

Anyway, whether the money is spent to pay fines, release political prisoners or whether it is given back to the owners, it will be used for a good deed. Now it’s necessary to get it back first.
