Deputy PM: Belarus may get less oil than planned from Russia this year

"Previously, I told we would export 23 million tons of oil from Russia. However, most likely, the scope will be less due to a number of reasons," BELTA quotes Syamashka's speech at the plenary session of the XVIII Belarusian Energetic and Ecological Congress.

Russia offered to ship 19,5 million tons of oil to Belarus within a year. Our country counted for 23 million tons.

Back in December 2012, Alyaksandr Lukashenka told he had a certain agreement with Russia for shipment of 23 million tons of oil during the year 2013 (see video). This September, Uladzimir Syamashka held negotiations with Russia's PM Anatoly Dvorkovich in Moscow but failed to agree on shipment of additional 4,5 million tons of oil. Still, Russian experts think that the fact that shipment of Russian oil to Belarus wasn't suspended due to the "potash war" is a success.
