Deceased prisoner’s mother to stand trial today
Ihar Ptsichkin’s mother will stand trial together with director of the private educational institution Platform Innovation Andrei Bandarenka.
21-year-old Ihar Ptsichkin died in unexplained circumstances in detention centre #1. His mother was delivered to Minsk Moscow District Court on the evening of November 13. Zhanna Ptsichkina was detained by policemen in plain clothes at home and accused to refusing to appear in court. She was summoned to court in connection with the administrative case concerning an unauthorized picket held on September 14. Ihar’s relatives and other citizens planned to organize a memorial action near the detention centre on that day. 18 people were detained.
Andrei Bandarenka will stand trial for the same picket. The hearing is appointed for 3.15 p.m. in Minsk Moscow District Court, BelaPAN reports.
