Criminal case against former Minsk prosecutor goes to court
The criminal case against former Minsk Regional Prosecutor Mikhail
Snyahir has been referred to court, BelaPAN quoted a representative of the
Prosecutor General’s Office as saying. The former prosecutor was arrested on December 12, 2008, a month after
Alyaksandr Lukashenka accused him of corrupt practices in a televised speech.
Snyahir is facing a power abuse charge under Part Three of the Criminal
Code’s Article 424, which carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.
