The Holidays 2016 exhibition kicked off today at the Belexpo center in Minsk. The first floor is occupied by the travel companies that advertise holildays abroad: Greece, Georgia, Spain and other sea coast destinations.

The second floor is ruled by Belarusian farmsteds and health resorts, which lure customers with moonshine, cakes and local food specialities. The staffers from Liasnoye sanatorium owned by KGB wear Belarusian national costumes.

If you take a picture with them, they offer a 10%-discount for a holidays package - Br3.4 million for seven days, including the medical treatment program.

Embroidered shirts were seen at every other Belarusian stand.

The hunting services company Cyrvony Bor promotes itself with the help of a bear with vodka and a tray.

When you pass along dozens of Belarusian stands, you have the feeling that pickles, hamd, lard and moonshine represent the nation's No 1 brand.

Hunting seems to be brand No 2.

Holidays in Crimea are also advertised by the Russian company Karelia. We have not spotted holiday packages in Crimea from Belarusian tour operators.

Georgians in national costumes lured customers with live singing and khinkali.

The longest lines are here. Compared to last year, there was a bigger offer for holidays in Bulgaria, Spain, Odessa (Ukraine). Holidays in Turkey and Egypt are less visible.
