China builds highest ice sculpture
The highest ice sculpture has been inveiled in the northern Chinese city of Harbin. The monument named "Romantic Feelings" and erected in the honor of the annual festival "Ice and Snow" is 34.5 meters high and 197 meters long, reports Belta.
The sculpture was built from snow and ice cubic blocks. Six artists from 40 countries of the world used 120,000 blocks to construct a composition devoted to the upcoming Olypmic Games. The composition comprises Russian churches, French cathedrals, Chinese palaces.
The sculpture is illuminated during dark hours. The Ice and Snow festival is expected to attract up to 800,000 tourists.
