Big Belarusian-German Dictionary presented in Minsk

The presentation of the Big Belarusian-German Dictionary (more than 70 thousand words and expressions) has taken place in Minsk International Education Center named after Johannes Rau in the framework of the XII Minsk Forum, reports BelaPAN. The printout of the Dictionary is 1 thousand copies. It was published by Zmitser Kolas' publishing house in Minsk. Linguists have worked on this fundamental book for nearly 18 years. The professor of Minsk Linguistic Institute (now- Linguistic University) Uladzimir Martsineuski and his allies had started compiling this dictionary, which is considered the most complete one, back in 1992. Mikalaj Kuryanka was the one to head the project after Uladzimir Martsineuski had died in 1994. A great input was also made by a famous polyglot Liavon Barshcheuski. 17 specialists worked on the dictionary on the whole, including German ones.
