Bernard Kouchner: European Union will continue supporting Georgia

The declaration of EU member states adopted during a summit dedicated to Georgia “will go further” than the approval of the peace-keeping plan worked out by Moscow and Tbilisi, - claimed the French Minister of Foreign Affairs Bernard Kouchner. The leader of French diplomats noted that the idea of sending EU observers to Georgia would be discussed on Monday. They may join the OSCE mission there. The European Union would not impose sanctions on Russia in response to the Russia-Georgia conflict, informed a source of “Reuters” in the French government on Friday.
